Tushy Ace Electric Bidet is the high-tech bidet that’s designed to make you feel like you’re in your own personal spa. The device features an easy-to-use interface, a built-in deodorizer, and powerful water pressure for a refreshing cleanse.

CNN —

Tushy, the humorous bidet brand you’ve undoubtedly seen all over social media, has established a name for itself with its user-friendly bidet attachment. But now, the company has launched a new bidet that is a big step up in terms of functionality and pricing from the bidet attachments you’re used to.

The Tushy Ace is an electric bidet with a heated set, limitless warm water, an adjustable self-cleaning nozzle, a drier, and even a remote control. It’s a significant investment at $599 (and considerably more so than Tushy’s earlier versions, which cost about $100). We put the Ace through its paces to see whether it’s worth your time.

Before we get into too much detail about the Tushy Ace, make sure your toilet is suitable. (Who knew there were so many different kinds of toilet seats?) On Tushy’s website, you can see whether the Ace will fit your toilet.

Tushy’s new electric bidet has a lot of features.

The Tushy Ace is the high-end bidet you’ve been waiting for, with a heated seat, warm water, a drier, and even a remote control.

The heated seat, warm water, and built-in drier of the Tushy Ace are significant improvements over the original Tushy Classic, which we evaluated after the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020. The Ace’s additional features, flexibility, and simple remote are all nice improvements over the Classic. You’ll be able to run a back and front wash after installing the bidet (more on that later). Both have five levels of adjustment for both water pressure and angle. We can affirm that the Ace’s spray is considerably more pleasant than the one on the Tushy attachments after using it. Plus, due to an oscillating power wash triggered by pushing the rear or front wash button twice, the Ace is not only more pleasant to clean, but it’s also more effective.

The Tushy Ace has five water temperature settings, and thanks to an internal coiled heating system, you’ll have endless warm water as soon as you start spraying. That’s a much superior experience than the Tushy Spa, which draws hot water from a pipe beneath your sink rather of heating it. We also tried the Spa and discovered that if your sink water takes a long time to warm up, the stream from your bidet would have the same problem. The Tushy Ace, on the other hand, immediately sprays warm water.

For a little perspective, the way a bidet heats the water is a major driver of pricing at this level. Some bidets have a built-in tank that can only keep a certain quantity of water warm, while others, such as the Tushy Ace, have an internal mechanism that warms the water as it passes through the bidet, ensuring a warm stream for as long as you need it.

The Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 ($699; amazon.com) and the Brondell Swash 1400 ($649; brondell.com), for example, both include an inbuilt heating mechanism that provides an endless supply of hot water. A bidet with a heating tank, on the other hand, is an excellent choice if you don’t want to spend as much but still want hot water. Both the Brondell Swash LE89 and Swash LE99, which utilize a tank and offer a pleasant, effective clean, were tested. The Swash LE89 ($289.99; brondell.com) has the same basic features as the Tushy Ace (although with a restricted quantity of warm water), but it has all of its controls on a side arm. We didn’t find the arm to be too bothersome to use, but if you want a bidet with a remote and a lower price tag, the Swash LE99 ($309.99; brondell.com) is almost similar to the LE89 but has a remote and user profiles, which allow you to store your favorite settings.

The Tushy Ace also has a heated seat with five temperature settings, which, to be honest, felt a bit strange at first. Previously, the only explanation for a warm toilet seat was that it had recently been used by someone else, which is an unpleasant connection. However, after a few usage, the feeling of a heated seat became quite pleasurable, and it will almost certainly only grow better as the weather cools.

Finally, we’ve reached the dryer, which is by far the greatest improvement over the original Tushy. Brands often promise that using their bidet will save you money on toilet paper, but we’ve found that this isn’t always the case. After a spray, there’s often still a lot of water to pat dry, and we’d use roughly the same quantity of toilet paper regardless. The Tushy Ace’s dryer, on the other hand, eliminates this problem. After you’ve finished spraying, click the dryer button to begin a drying cycle, which you may stop at any moment by hitting the “stop” button. It’s not just comfy, but it also works well enough to significantly reduce the quantity of toilet paper you need, thanks to its five temperature settings.

When it comes to bidets, installation is crucial since, not surprisingly, most people don’t deal with their toilet’s plumbing very frequently. Tushy has long claimed to be one of the simplest bidets to install on your toilet, and we found that to be true when we tried the Classic. Tushy has kept the new Tushy Ace’s simplicity of installation — simply make sure your toilet is compatible and that a three-prong outlet is less than 3 feet away, as previously stated.

It only took about 30 minutes to install the Tushy Ace on our toilet, and much of that time was spent attempting to line up the hose with our toilet tank’s connection, which is tucked away in a corner of our bathroom and almost difficult to notice (you’ve got to love New York City apartments!).

Overall, getting the Ace up and running is a breeze. Just like you would when installing the Tushy Classic, you cut off the water supply, flush your toilet to empty the tank, and remove your toilet seat. The water connections are usually straightforward to screw on as long as you don’t have too much room, and connecting the bidet to your toilet needs a simple mount that fits directly over the toilet’s holes. We have a top-mount toilet, therefore we had to buy extra washers to properly install other bidets. The Tushy Ace, on the other hand, comes with its own screws, so you won’t need any other materials to install the bidet, whether you have a top-mount or normal toilet.

After gently re-starting the water and double-checking that none of your connections are leaking, you may plug in your Tushy Ace and get going. Even though it’s simple to set up, you should read the directions thoroughly first.

Our installation proceeded without a hitch, but you should keep an eye on your bidet. We discovered one of the connections was leaking and had begun to flood our bathroom after approximately an hour. All we had to do was adjust the hose and tighten it, but it’s always a good idea to double-check yours afterward to avoid flooding.

The Tushy Ace is without a doubt a significant upgrade over the Tushy Classic and Tushy Spa. The Tushy Ace is a good choice if you want a high-end bidet. It costs $599, and although that’s a lot more than Tushy’s earlier models, the Ace’s features are comparable to other bidets in the same price range.

If you’re looking for a high-end bidet that’s also easy to use, the Tushy Ace electric bidet won’t let you down. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without the unending warm water, heated seat, remote control, adjustability, and dryer after you’ve experienced them.
